This week we have Kayvan Zainabadi,  Co-Founder and CEO of InstantNightlife, an app that helps you pick the best club to go out to. InstantNightlife just celebrated thier 1-year anniversary and recently launched a realtime deals platform where bars & clubs post instant deals to draw people to their venue.

In the public relations field, everything is about who you know. When I first started I literally had zero connections. Luckily after a few months, I realized how to use web to not only strengthen my connections established through networking events, but to also bring the networking game to the web. Here's my tips on using the internet to help you network! 

Stop Focusing on Failure, Study Success.

You hear it all the time: "Fail Fast", "Celebrate Failure" and "Learn from Failure."  But is that really what matters?  Does knowing what doesn't work actually help you get significantly closer to what will work?  Are we predisposed to rationalize failure, because we don't want to feel like the insane work hours of a startup were a waste? I don't think we should ignore failure, but we need to do more to study, and immitate success.  There is 100X more to learn and gain value from success.

Event Recap: Developers Developers Developers Developers aka d8event is a Hit!

This weekend hundreds of students descended upon Microsoft NERD to learn about the latest web technologies for both development and design as well as what makes startups a great place to work. The first floor conference area was standing room only as students from 57 different New England schools eagerly listened and learned from great web experts like Dharmesh Shah, Angus Davis, John Resig, and Annie Wang.  It was a lot of fun to put on the event and I picked up a few things watching the talks. I'd like to share some highlights and lessons learned from the event.
