Where them coffee shops at?

There are 3 ingredients to a successful startup environment: venture capital, entrepreneurial density and coffee shops. Imagine how many businesses were started, partnerships forged and spontaneous connections made at local coffee shops in our innovation hubs? Now that startups several startups are moving out of Kendall Square and by areas like Terrible Row we can only ask - where them coffee shops at?

What is Terrible Row?

Terrible Row was coined by Terrible Labs as the block of Kingston Street between Essex and Chinatown Park. It’s situated between the Orange (Chinatown), Green (Boylston) and Red (South Station) Lines, Route 93 North and South, Route 90 East and West, and South Station.

The area nearby is previously is quickly becoming a hotbed of startups that are moving there after they grow out of co-working spaces seeking to avoid the high prices in the Innovation District and Kendall Square.

What is Kendall Square?

Kendall Square / MIT has the densest population of entrepreneurs of anywhere else in the world. Considering that Dogpatch Labs, Techstars, the CIC, Hubspot and Google Ventures among others call the neighborhood home it’s not surprise they also have the best coffee shops!

I’d be willing to bet money that if you go to any of those shops you’ll see someone with a MacBook executing a business plan or coding a new product. But other fledging startup areas in Boston don’t have a central place to connect and get their caffeine fix.

So as a city of entrepreneurs who’s willing to pick up the torch? Will we see a Voltage Coffee by South Station anytime soon?
