What's Next

At the MassTLC unConference, a list of challenges for the entrepreneurial community to take on to “turbocharge” the region were generated. We’ve started by creating this wiki/community, but there is much more to do. Below is the list. If you’re interested in getting involved in the solutions or have additional suggestions for the list, please comment on this page or contact us. Thanks.

Academic/Young Entrepreneurs:

  • Break down school silos
  • Connect students w/ companies more
  • Let more green horns in (i.e.- Give young entrepreneurs a shot to work in startups)

Events/Organizations:

  • Virtual unConference
  • Organize more practical meetings (i.e.- not networking…mission based)
  • Have heads of various groups/events meet
  • TC50 Event in Boston

Leadership:

  • Court acquisition heavy businesses to the region
  • Have more thought leadership in the region
  • MassTLC: Coordinate challenges
  • Open employer (non compete) Badges

Investment:

  • Coordinate VC “reprogramming” of mentalities
  • Micro-investment matching mechanisms

Discussion

TC50 Event in Boston

If you haven't noticed, TechCrunch has no love for Boston or our startups.
How about an Xconomy50 or some other local organization sponsoring a similar startup event.
I would much prefer that than TechCrunch.

RE: TC50 Event in Boston

Tom,

Great idea.  I've heard a lot of people suggest it, but much like the idea for a city-wide startup job fair, no one knows who should do it.

Hopefully the community gets more things going in 2010 and that can gain some momentum too.

Thanks,
-Jason
