Firefly BioWorks is devoted to developing innovative molecular diagnostic assays to help researchers and clinicians reduce uncertainty in their decision making. Theirr core technology platform is a method for performing rapid and multiplexed biomolecules detection that allows a combination of sensitivity, specificity, reliability, speed and cost not available from any existing alternative. The technology was born in the laboratory of Prof. Patrick Doyle at MIT and utilizes barcoded gel microparticles that are rapidly custom-synthesized using a ground-breaking combination of microfluidics and photolithography. Firefly BioWorks goal is to become a leading developer and provider of clinical instruments and diagnostic tests in the areas of cancer, infectious diseases and multidrug resistance.
Lantos Technologies, Inc.
Shahid Azim, Founder & CEO

Lantos Technologies is an early stage medical device company, developing a novel three-dimensional imaging technology that captures digital images in a totally new way. Our first product will be a handheld scanner that can capture 3D digital images of the ear canal, to be sold to manufacturers of custom fit products for ears. The technology has evolved as a result of research done in the laboratory of Prof. Doug Hart, in the Mechanical Engineering Department at MIT. In less than a minute, we can take a digital 3D image of your ear canal that is ready for production runs for custom ear products. The  hand held portable scanner may be used at the “point of sale” to unlock the mass customization potential in consumer earphones market and the niche hearing aids space. The company attracted early traction from the market and was recently profiled in Fast Company, Audiology Online and MIT Tech Review.
