In its second year, THE QUEST is a high-tech mobile gaming experience (with teams competing) that will bring together leaders from across the technology, life sciences and creative communities to celebrate greater Boston’s leadership over the centuries as a global hub of innovation. This year’s event will be held in Kendall Square on Thursday, September 23rd (4pm-7pm) and will be built using SCVNGR’s geo-gaming platform.  Proceeds generated from THE QUEST will be used to help assist not-for-profit organizations and local university programs focused on advancing entrepreneurship in the region.

It’s mid-August, and who among us has been to enough picnics this summer? The kind with cupcakes? And what if the Boston/Cambridge tech community took over a small park for a flashmob-style picnic of our own?
 
That’s the sophisticated, high-level thinking behind TechPicnic, taking place for the first and perhaps only time on Wednesday, August 18th.

Believe it or not, August is upon us.  Maybe some VCs are on vacation, but that doesn't mean the startup scene is slowing down.  The startup scene has over over 106 events this month. We know it can be hard to decide what to go to so we try to help out by highlighting what we think are the Top 8 Can't Miss Events this month!

Startup Leadership Program Now Accepting Applications for Boston Class of 2011

The Startup Leadership Program is a competitive, 9 month fellowship for entrepreneurs in their 20s and 30s.  Our fellows are leaders in the life sciences, tech, clean tech, and social enterprise sectors.  Some have live startups and are actively raising money; others are just starting out with an idea.  All are focused on starting a company and leading it.

In the startup ecosystem there is a lot of ongoing discussion of how to better inspire, motivate and engage young people in New England. Everyone would love for more of the best and brightest to consider entrepreneurship and hopefully either join a startup or start their own.
