Greenhorn Summit Sold Out and Days Away!

The Greenhorn Summit, Boston’s first student entrepreneurship conference is sold out and only days away. Students from as far as Washington, DC are making their way to Boston to learn from local entrepreneurs, investors and other innovation community leaders.

The brain drain from Boston’s campuses to other cities after graduation is real, and there are several organizations working to resolve it. The Greenhorn Summit will showcase Boston’s vibrant startup community to top business, engineering and design students.

The Summit is the creation of Greenhorn Connect, Boston’s best resource for startup events and jobs. Other Boston-based organizations supporting this effort include fast-growing, venture-backed companies, Acquia and Wayfair, and the New England Venture Capital Association (NEVCA).

The conference features several breakout sessions and discussions, as well as Startup Alley, where companies will demo their products and chat with attendees. 70+ students remain on the waiting list. Due to this high level of demand, Startup Alley will be open to all students interested in attending.

NEVCA, the lead sponsor of the event, has also graciously decided to invite student initiatives such as Boston Startup School, The Capital Network and Intelligent.ly to join them in Startup Alley.

Executive Director C.A. Webb says, “NEVCA believes Boston is the best place in the world to start and grow new companies. We have amazing organizations that offer education, networking and hard skills to young entrepreneurs and others interested in working in startups. We are pleased that Boston Startup School, The Capital Network and Intelligent.ly will join us at the Summit to introduce their resources to these students.”

This is ramping up to be a terrific event and one that will surely inspire students to join local startups. Greenhorn Connect hopes this will inspire Boston companies and organizations that serve entrepreneurs to pursue a wide range of student outreach activities, particularly on college and university campuses, to keep the momentum going after the Summit.
